Corporate

Vital Engenharia Ambiental is one of the largest solid waste management companies in Brazil and Latin America. Using cutting-edge technology and believing in the potential for achievement of our employees, we offer a complete and integrated solid waste service management platform, to serve a population of approximately 20 million people on a daily basis and with excellence.

Vital believes that preserving the environment is fundamental and, therefore, all its operations follow the highest standards of environmental protection contained in the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS).

Currently, more than 11 thousand employees are part of our TEAM, spread across 9 states in Brazil, distributed in 4 of the 5 Brazilian regions. Our teams collect approximately 10 thousand tons of solid household waste daily. Every year, we dispose of more than 4 million tons of household solid waste in waste treatment plants.

Vital believes in people’s ability to achieve, which is why – through its Corporate University – the company combines its 29 years of experience in the Brazilian market with investment in ongoing training programs for its employees. The objective is to maintain the standard of excellence in the provision of services, providing effective solutions that best suit current demands, while also reflecting the modern and innovative character of the company.

For the future, we are focused on expanding our waste treatment and final disposal operations, consolidating important concession contracts, and structuring strategic partnerships to expand biogas generation, aiming to increase our contribution to the transition of the Brazilian energy matrix, promoting greater environmental sustainability and generation of carbon credits.

With solid governance, commitment to our environmental mission and the continued support of our shareholders, employees and partners, we are convinced that we will achieve our future goals and make a difference in our segment and in Brazil.

Social and Environmental Responsibility

Vital understands that we are part of communities, which is why we strive to not only minimize our environmental impact, but also to contribute positively to the social fabric of these communities.
We are committed to fostering the development and prosperity of the communities around us. Through engaged social programs, Vital seeks not only to provide tangible opportunities, such as jobs and access to education, but also to nurture an environment where social well-being is a priority and where we include environmental education actions.

We are partners of the Ethos Institute, and we adopt the concept of social and environmental responsibility applied to the management of our business. In this way, Vital seeks to integrate itself into the communities where it operates, through the development of social and environmental projects, ratifying its commitment to its VALUES and a business model based on ethics, transparency and sustainability.

Vital maintains Environmental Education Centers in its units throughout Brazil, where most of these projects are developed, in partnership with actors from the surrounding communities. In some units, multi-sports spaces were built and are open to the local population.

Some examples of projects developed by Vital Engenharia Ambiental and its subsidiaries:

Developed projects

Living with Health Project

This social project encompasses several initiatives aimed at community development in the city of Campos dos Goytacazes (RJ). Among the actions carried out, the creation of urban gardens on abandoned land and underused spaces in the Parque Santa Clara neighborhood stands out, directly benefiting local families. In addition, the project includes the donation of organic compost, produced from waste from fairs and markets, to farmers in the Cinturão Verde community, contributing to local agriculture.

Welcome Campos Project

Vital in Campos dos Goytacazes (RJ), in partnership with the local government, is committed to creating employment opportunities for homeless people. Currently, a program in its initial phase at the unit has already mobilized approximately 70 people, providing them with a chance to re-enter the job market.

Reunion Program

Through Ecourbis, Vital supports the inclusion of participants in the Reencontro Program, promoted by the city of São Paulo. The program aims to reintegrate people living on the streets and in socially vulnerable situations, facilitating their return to the job market and promoting autonomy and dignity.

Themed Trucks and Clean Recife Campaign

The Recife Ambiental Consortium, operating in Recife (PE), launched the Caminhões Temáticos and Campanha Recife Limpa projects to reinforce collection and maintenance initiatives in the capital of Pernambuco, which is home to an estimated population of 1.5 million inhabitants. The project included hiring local artists to paint the collection trucks and decorate the walls of the Eco Stations, raising awareness about the importance of a healthy environment.

Biodigestion Project

At our unit in Foz do Iguaçu (PR), we are carrying out a project to install, operate and monitor 30 biodigesters in the region, benefiting approximately 8 thousand people. This project aims to improve the management of organic waste and generate benefits for the local community.

See the Program up close

Ecourbis, operating in São Paulo (SP), develops the Ver de Perto Program, a permanent environmental awareness initiative that carries out several activities based on 4 complementary methodological axes. These activities aim to promote the understanding and active participation of the population in environmental preservation.

Vital Project Connection

In the municipality of Ipatinga (MG) we run the Conexão Vital Project, which aims to promote environmental education in the communities surrounding the landfill. A specialized consultancy, hired annually, is responsible for developing and implementing the activities of this project.

Eco Pedagogy Action

In the municipality of Ipatinga (MG) we also run the Ação Eco Pedagogia program, an environmental education initiative focused on the use and scarcity of water resources. It involves students from the Idalino Amâncio dos Santos Municipal School, providing them with a deeper understanding of the importance of water conservation.

Also at school, we held the Organic Composting Workshop. This action raises awareness among the school lunch team about the importance of composting for efficient management of organic waste generated by the school, demonstrating in practice how the process is carried out and encouraging the habit of recycling.

Environmental Visits Program

At CGA Titara, in Rosário (MA), the Environmental Visits Program promotes a transparent relationship between the community and the company. Socio-environmental actions include the dissemination of information about the landfill’s operation and its importance, serving as a channel to clarify the population’s doubts. The program serves the local community and other areas of influence of the operational unit, in addition to educational institutions, organizations and other municipalities in the state, in accordance with the Basic Environmental Plan (PBA).
